Scenario Analysis

Scenario Analysis enables what-if modelling by letting you modify dates and quantities on purchase orders, manufacturing orders, sales orders, inventory, and forecasts within an isolated scenario, then visualise how those changes affect the inventory position and planning status - without affecting live data.

Overview

Each scenario is an independent copy of the current planning state. Changes made inside a scenario are sandboxed - they do not affect the live purchase orders, sales orders, or inventory records until explicitly applied.

Creating a Scenario

  1. Click New to create a new scenario
  2. Give the scenario a name
  3. Select the rows you want to modify (purchase orders, sales orders, manufacturing orders, inventory, forecast)
  4. Edit quantities, dates, or statuses within the scenario context
  5. Click Run Planning to recalculate the inventory projection with your changes applied

Scenario List Columns

Name Scenario name
Created By User who created the scenario
Last Edit Timestamp of the most recent change
Last Planning Timestamp of the most recent planning run within this scenario
Total Item Count Total items included in the scenario
Impacted Items Items whose planning status changes under this scenario
Total Purchase Orders POs included in the scenario
Impacted Purchase Orders POs whose status or dates were modified
Total Manufacturing Orders MOs included in the scenario
Impacted Manufacturing Orders MOs whose status or dates were modified
Impacted Inventory Inventory records modified in the scenario
Total Sales Orders SOs included in the scenario
Impacted Sales Orders SOs whose status or quantities were modified
Total Forecast Orders Forecast lines included in the scenario
Impacted Forecast Orders Forecast lines modified in the scenario
