Sales & Demand

The Sales & Demand module consolidates all customer-facing demand signals - firm sales orders, forecasts, and delivery schedules - into a single workspace. It provides the demand visibility that drives procurement recommendations and inventory planning.

Sales & Demand Screens

Screen Description
Sales Orders All open customer orders with line detail
Sales Orders Archive Fulfilled and closed sales orders
Forecasts Open forecast and delivery schedule orders
Forecasts Archive Archived forecast records
Forecast Snapshots Point-in-time forecast copies for variance tracking

Required Privilege

Access to all sales and demand screens requires the Demand privilege. View access allows read-only browsing. Edit access allows creating, modifying, and deleting orders.

Demand Hierarchy

Knosc uses the following hierarchy when calculating net demand for planning:

Firm Demand → Sales Orders (always included)
Tentative Demand → Forecasts (included based on planning settings)

Net Demand = max(Sales Orders, Forecast) per period

This prevents double-counting when customers have both placed orders and provided forecasts. The aggregation method is configurable in Settings → Inventory Planning.
