Forecasts

Navigation: Demand → Forecasts

The Forecasts screen displays open forecast orders - data-driven estimates of future customer demand used to guide planning decisions across the supply chain. Forecasts drive the Forecast column in Inventory Planning and contribute to suggested procurement and manufacturing decisions.

Overview

Forecasts vs Sales Orders

Sales orders represent confirmed demand. Forecasts represent estimated future demand. The two are tracked separately and compared on the Forecast vs Sales analytics view. See Key Concepts for details.

Archived forecast lines are stored in Forecasts Archive. Daily point-in-time snapshots are available in Forecast Snapshots.

Creating Forecasts

Manual upload

Download the Excel template from the toolbar, populate forecast lines, and upload.

Via integration

Forecasts can be imported automatically from an ERP or directly from a customer's system. See Forecast Integration.

Forecast Over Time

Navigation: Analytics → Forecast Over Time

Compares how the forecast for a given time period changes between two points in time. Useful for measuring forecast drift and accuracy improvement.

  • Select an aggregation period (day / week / month)
  • Select two forecast reference points - either fixed snapshot dates or relative offsets (e.g. "60 days prior" vs "30 days prior")
  • Toggle between quantity and value views

Example: Compare the forecast for March generated on January 1st vs the forecast for March generated on February 1st to see how the forecast evolved over a two-month window.

Forecast vs Sales

Navigation: Analytics → Forecast vs Sales

Compares forecasted demand against actual sales for the same time periods. Includes statistical accuracy metrics.

  • Select an aggregation period
  • Select a forecast reference point (fixed date or relative offset, e.g. 60 days prior)
  • Toggle between quantity and value views
  • The screen automatically calculates and displays:
  • MAE - Mean Absolute Error
  • RMSE - Root Mean Squared Error
