Manufacturing¶
The Manufacturing module tracks production orders - documenting what is being manufactured, in what quantity, and on what schedule. Manufacturing order data feeds directly into inventory planning, ensuring that planned production is counted as future supply when calculating inventory positions and reorder requirements.
Manufacturing Screens¶
| Screen | Description |
|---|---|
| Manufacturing Orders | All open production orders |
| Manufacturing Orders Archive | Completed and cancelled production orders |
Required Privilege¶
Access to manufacturing screens requires the Manufacturing privilege. View access allows read-only browsing. Edit access allows creating, modifying, and deleting manufacturing orders.
Manufacturing Orders in Planning¶
Open manufacturing orders appear in the Planning screen as Manufacturing (Qty) supply. The planning engine counts scheduled production as future supply, reducing the need for additional purchase orders.
For items with a Bill of Materials, the planning engine also calculates indirect demand on component items - raw materials required to fulfill the manufacturing schedule - and includes this demand in raw material reorder calculations.
